The traffic junction Plaça de Catalunya, one of the central places in Barcelona, is the link between the historic center Barri Gòtic (the Gothic Quarter) and the modern planned city L‘Eixample. In 2005, UNESCO put the Nativity façade, the apse façade and the crypt of the Sagrada Família as an extension of the World Heritage monument works of Antoni Gaudí in its model list of world cultural heritage.
