Sightseeing in Vienna
As a cosmopolitan city with a chequered history, Vienna naturally offers a large number of sights - it is probably best to start with the most famous ones - for example, Stephansdom on Vienna's Stephansplatz - also called Steffl for short by the Viennese - an Austrian national shrine. Schönbrunn Palace, which in its present form was the summer residence of Archduchess Maria Theresa in the 18th century, is similarly impressive.
But if you fancy some grand architecture and a bit of nature at the same time, you can find both at Schönbrunn Zoo. The zoo is part of the park of Schönbrunn Palace - and is the oldest zoo in the world still in existence!
If you want to see a historically grown art collection, for example, you can do so at the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere: here you can get an overview - from the Middle Ages to Impressionism - of the development of Austrian art over the past centuries. The Albertina Art Museum, on the other hand, houses one of the most important collections of graphic art in the world. Those who have gathered enough impressions and want to let their gaze wander can do so during a ride on the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel. The Ferris wheel was built in 1897 and was one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world at the time.
The Hofburg was the residence of the Habsburgs in Vienna from the 13th century - until 1918. Since 1946, the Hofburg has been the official residence of the Austrian Federal President and can be visited with its many different parts of the building.
For a different approach to Austrian and European history, visit the Kaisergruft, (the Imperial Crypt), where all Habsburg emperors and kings are buried.
Mozart lovers can visit the Mozartwohnung (the "Mozart flat") and be inspired by the atmosphere there - it is the only flat of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that has survived to this day, who lived here from 1784 to 1787.
And there's hardly any end to it - the city offers much more in terms of art, history and lifestyle!
There is so much to see in Vienna – just sit back and enjoy a private sightseeing tour with INTERLINE Vienna limousine service.
Nightlife and Dining
The club scene in Vienna is famous for its high musical quality. You can always choose whether you want to go out "chic" or whether you would rather go to the "underground". Especially for electronic music, Vienna's club scene is also internationally known and appreciated.
Vienna offers an almost unimaginable selection of trendy clubs, party and live venues, elegant clubs and bars.
But the "Wiener Küche" (yes, the cuisine is named after the city!) is not only delicious - it also reflects the country's eventful history.
It is a typical fusion cuisine with a long tradition and different origins - Italian, French or Hungarian! Enjoy it - eat your way through European culinary history!. But of course you will find cuisine from all over the world in Vienna - from Indian to Indonesian or from Afghan to Ethiopian.
Then just ask one of our INTERLINE Vienna chauffeurs – they know the best restaurant in town.
